Darwin's voyage with the Beagle has recently enjoyed much media attention in the Netherlands through the VPRO television series broadcast from the "Clipper Stad Amsterdam", tracing the original route that Darwin took with the Beagle. Marcus Werner was one of the researchers for the television series, and in this lecture he will trace the development of evolutionary behavioral research, starting from Darwin's fateful voyage all the way up to the present day, highlighting the importance of Darwin's journey for later research.
