What do you think of when you hear the words "witch", "magick", "astrology", "pagan", "zodiac", "naturopath", "moon sign", "tarot cards", or "rituals"? Do you have any idea what Wiccans and astrologers believe? Or what they do? And what relevance do they have for a modern, scientifically trained person? With the popularity of Harry Potter, the Twilight series, and shows like Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, witches and witchcraft have entered the limelight once again. Contrastingly, astrology has maintained a steady presence in the minds of most people--and with the approach of 2012, astrology and charting are moving up a couple of notches in peoples' minds and interest. American Wiccan Evi Collins, and Dutch astrology practitioner, Bram de Kort, have a combined 20 years of experience with the subjects and share--(not teach)--from their personal experience and research what they have learned with fellow curious beings on similar paths of discovery. Evi has been practicing Wicca and Naturopathy for more than 15 years, notably in a corporate setting. Bram has been practicing astrology for more than 5 years, and has studied mainstream science academically in order to experience both sides of Science and how they relate to each other. During this talk, Evi and Bram will describe what Wicca and astrology ARE as well as what they ARE NOT. As part of the discussion, they will do some sample astrological chart(s)/reading(s); a tarot reading; a sample spell; a ritual; and several naturopathic "prescriptions". Instead of being a one-sided lecture, the audience will be invited to help guide the discussion.
